The mayoress of Buenavista del Norte maintains the salary of 2,250 euros per month and the cost of her government

Eva García, the new socialist mayor of the municipality of Buenavista del Norte, maintains the salary assigned to her predecessor, Antonio gonzalez (Sí se puede), and the cost of its government equipment. The mayoress will receive a gross salary of 31,500 euros in 14 monthly installments of 2,250 gross euros. It must be remembered that the previous councilor stopped receiving his salary as of July 2021 and began to collect from the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands due to his status as interim official.

The first and third deputy mayors, Víctor González and Héctor Velázquez, both with exclusive dedication, will receive 28,000 euros per year each in 14 monthly installments of 2,000 euros gross, while the mayor Virginia Pérez has been assigned a partial dedication of 75%, receiving a Gross annual salary of 21,000 euros in 14 monthly installments of 1,500 euros gross. In front of them, the other three councilors with delegated areas will not receive any remuneration.

This was reported yesterday by the new Government of Buenavista del Norte, which also detailed the areas that the seven members of the new government team will lead. WEva García, in addition to being mayor, will lead the following areas: Economy, Finance, Security, Personnel, Works and Services, Communication, Technologies and Urban Planning.

Víctor Manuel González, in addition to first deputy mayor, will manage the areas of Culture, Festivals, Citizen Participation, Heritage, Water, Environment, Teno Rural Park Department and Special Delegation in Sports. Meanwhile, councilor Ingrid Regalado will hold the second tenure of mayor and will lead the Animal Welfare area, and Héctor Jesús Velázquez will be in charge of the Social Welfare, Department of the Elderly and Sports areas, being appointed third deputy mayor.

The rest of the government team will be made up of Virginia Pérez, in charge of the Youth, Tourism, Local Development Agency and Employment, Agriculture, Livestock and fishing; Mónica Díaz, who will assume the Equality area; and finally José Luis Medina, who will be responsible for Parks and Gardens, Cemetery and will have a special delegation in Works.

The total cost of the government group amounts to 108,500 euros per year, the same amount as its predecessors in the past term. Eva García assures that she has tried to “adapt to the professional profiles of each of the councilors of the Government group.” The mayoress also highlighted “the management commitment that the entire team of councilors assume”. “It will be a mandate with many fronts and great challenges to achieve, but we are going to put all our effort and work from each of the areas that we manage to achieve the objectives that we set for ourselves as a government team,” she concluded.
