SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 13 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife allocates two million euros from the Canary Islands Development Fund (FDCAN) to promote employment among the most disadvantaged groups.

The president of the island corporation, Rosa Dávila, the Employment Minister, Efraín Medina, and the area technician, Noel González, held a meeting this Thursday with some twenty non-profit entities from the third sector where they announced the characteristics of the subsidies.

Rosa Dávila points out in a note that they are “excited” to work with third sector entities since “they are the ones that have the knowledge and help us see the reality of the world of work.”

In his opinion, “it is important to actively listen to the entities to have a better understanding of the social and economic reality of the island and to be able to launch projects that improve employability.”

The president of the Cabildo explains that this initiative is part of the strategy of the insular corporation “to promote the improvement of the employability of unemployed people and the creation of employment, as well as productive diversification, especially in the field of those activities that employment niches are considered, understanding as such those that are expected to create jobs significantly in the medium or long term”.

For his part, Efraín Medina explains that “we must advance in this program to achieve an improvement in the labor insertion of people with fewer resources who have greater difficulty in finding a job.”

Therefore, he said, “we are going to work hand in hand with non-profit entities.”

In addition, Medina indicates that these projects must be comprehensive and have to be made up of good training, together with guidance and business practices, “since they are the key to achieving the insertion that is being pursued.”

The call has four sectors to which the different entities and organizations can apply: Blue and Green Economy, Industry and construction activities related to sustainability and energy efficiency, Services and Orange Economy.

The projects will have financing ranging between 50,000 and 300,000 euros.

Within the Blue and Green Economy sector there are sustainable agriculture and environmental projects, while in the Industry and construction activities related to sustainability and energy efficiency initiatives related to repairs and renewable energy may be hosted) .

In the Services sector, employment projects linked to new technologies, active tourism and health will be developed, while in the Orange Economy sector, activities related to culture and art will be promoted.
