The poor condition of the building known as Infobox, in San Andrés, has forced the Santa Cruz City Council to close it and transfer the municipal services that were located there to a new unit. Asked the Infrastructure area about where the new municipal office will be located, the answer given from the District to the PSOE on this matter is that, at this moment, the new location is being evaluated in a municipal premises located in the La Alegría neighborhood.
This first option has not been very well received by some of the Anaga collectives, who understand that they would be opting, again, to bring services to the center of the municipality instead of locating them at a point much closer to the residents of the different towns of the massif.
The closure of the Infobox, as explained by the mayor of Infrastructure at the time, is due to the fact that “it has some humidity problems that we have to solve, which are not easy. It is a modular structure that, with the passage of time, presents some problems of leaks and humidity, and to solve it you have to do a small project and a work, so, as we process that file, that area cannot be useful for the district, which is the one that was making use of the space ”.
