SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The candidate for the Congress of Deputies for the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Alicia Álvarez, and the candidate for the Senate for the island of Tenerife, Pedro Martín, have held a meeting in San Miguel de Abona to find out how the work is progressing in the work of the Canary-State Highway Agreement in Las Chafiras and have defended the commitment of the Government of Spain with investment in the island’s roads.
Alicia Álvarez recalled that the one at the entrance to Las Chafiras “is a work that is financed thanks to the Canary Islands-State Highway Agreement; an agreement that was totally depleted in the Popular Party government, when Mariano Rajoy decided to eliminate the consignments that came to investments to the Canary Islands.
During the meeting, which was also attended by the PSOE spokesman for San Miguel de Abona, José Carlos Rodríguez, together with part of his team in the municipality, Álvarez pointed out that thanks to the socialist government in the Canary Islands and in Madrid “it has been possible for this agreement is now not only a reality, but even the items have increased”.
“We have managed to recover the millions that were already committed and also 500 million euros more to continue improving mobility and roads in the province of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. This, Las Chafiras, is one of the 44 works that are projected and they are being carried out”, specified the socialist candidate.
Pedro Martín appreciated that the Socialist Party “has put projects on the table to be able to carry out works in Tenerife and it has been the Government of Spain, also with the PSOE, which has provided financing; now we have everything planned to end this work in Las Chafiras between now and the end of the year”.
“The incoming government must get its act together because the projects are ready to be awarded in August or September and these are works as important as the La Laguna bypass, to alleviate traffic on the TF-5,” recalled the socialist candidate. .
“To really begin to solve the road problems, the Socialists have left everything ready and our intention is to continue fighting from Madrid, from the Congress of Deputies and from the Senate, so that this financing, which has been promoted from the Government with the PSOE, continue in the coming years”, qualified Pedro Martín
“On July 23, we are at stake: going back to regression, not having money for the Canary Islands, or, on the contrary, having a government in Spain that pampers and cares for the Canary Islands as it deserves and generates investment and economy in our Archipelago”, sentenced Alicia Álvarez.
