The Canary Islands Seismic Network which operates the Volcanological Institute of Canary Islands (involve) has registered in the early hours of this Wednesday a small ‘seismic swarm’ of around 20 earthquakes of low magnitude.
Total 17 of them have been located whose hypocenters are located in the surroundings of the municipality of Santiago del Teide in Tenerife, at depths of approximately 40 kilometers and with a maximum recorded magnitude of 1.5.
No significant changes
From the National Geographic Institute (IGN) affirm that they continue to evaluate this new seismic series on the island that, for now, does not mean “no change” in the state of volcanic activity.
