The best nudist beaches in Tenerife 2023

Tenerife leaves no one indifferent. The island with the largest surface area in the Canary Islands arouses emotions due to its four cardinal points and within them its wide catalog of beaches. Lovers of nudism, without a doubt, will find their favorite corner next to the ocean that bathes Tenerife.

Volcanic rock, black sand, blonde sand, pebbles, calm waters, playful waves… All the beaches are in Tenerife and the feeling of being in each one of them is different.

Nudists have corners to enjoy in total tranquility in full connection with nature in its purest form and above all, too much sun. And all this under the watchful eye of Father Teide, the highest mountain in Spain.

Nudism as a movement arose at the end of the 19th century in West Germany. when the first Freikörperkultur was created, a group of defenders of total integration into nature through the nude. Since then this practice spread throughout Europe.

Nudism, according to experts, has many benefits for psychological, physical, sexual and also social health. Boosts self-esteem, eliminates social barriers, improves mood, connects us with nature.

These are four of the most popular nudist beaches in Tenerife to enjoy throughout the year.

the orotava

The Ducks

Of black volcanic sand is found in La Orotava, between Bolullo and Ancón beaches. Access is not easy. From the northern highway, take the TF-176 exit towards El Rincón and park at the end of the road, next to a bus stop. From there you have to walk about 30 minutes to the beach.

Once you arrive at this paradise of jet-colored sand and crystalline waters, the enjoyment of solitude and silence along with the views of the cliff, is a treasure that no one will want to part with. It is Eden in Tenerife.

Abona granadilla

La Tejita (El Medano)

It is one of the longest beaches (one kilometer) in Tenerife. It is located in the coastal town of El Médano (Granadilla de Abona). The nudist area is located in a small cove at the foot of La Montaña Roja. In addition, this beach is located near the town of Los Abrigosfamous for having several restaurants where you can taste good fresh fish and shellfish.

Red Mountain (El Médano)

Tranquility and connection with nature is guaranteed in this small cove sheltered from the wind and waves next to the Montaña Roja volcano with its 171 meters high. Diving into its crystalline waters is a pleasure that will hardly be forgotten.

The privacy offered by its strategic location, turns Red Mountain into one of the favorite places for naturists.

The volcanic cone and the beaches in the area are classified as Special Natural Reserve due to its high landscape value.

Santa Cruz of Tenerife

Las Gaviotas Beach

If there is a beach in Tenerife that every nudist should visit, that is Las Gaviotas, a place that blends in perfect harmony with the rocks, the black sand and the vegetation of its cliff. This wild nature a few kilometers from the city of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, it is one of the ‘secret’ beaches of Tenerife. Unlike Las Teresitas beach, Las Gaviotas is not overcrowded.
