SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, July 1 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The educational program ‘Canary Islands: a volcanic window on the Atlantic’ will be present next week in the municipality of El Rosario (Tenerife) to bring volcanoes and volcanic risk management closer to society.

According to the Cabildo, organized by the Volcanological Institute of the Canary Islands (INVOLCAN), dependent on the Cabildo de Tenerife, the educational program will take place on July 4, 5 and 6 starting at 7:00 p.m.

These are three days of free assistance, aimed at the general public, although attendance is especially recommended for all people linked to the security and emergency operation, both professionals and volunteers, residing in the municipality.

‘Canary Islands: a volcanic window in the Atlantic’ arises from the need to regularly inform and educate the citizens residing in the Canary Islands about the different dangers associated with the volcanic phenomenon and the actions that must be taken to reduce volcanic risk.

With this, the recommendations described by the Special Plan for Civil Protection and Emergency Attention due to Volcanic Risk in the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands (PEVOLCA) and the Island Action Plan against the Volcanic Risk of Tenerife are fulfilled.

The final objective of this program is to contribute to making the Canary Islands a better informed and organized community in the face of volcanic risk in order to become much less vulnerable than a community that does not know or ignores the volcanic threats that surround it, and is not organized to respond. to them.
