The development of the plan to redevelop the airport begins in September

“I know that in September we started with the remodeling project of the new terminal to expand the passenger loading and unloading area,” said the mayor of Granadilla de Abona, Jennifer Miranda, yesterday after visiting the airport Tenerife South. These are works that “will result in the destination improvement Tenerife and, therefore, it will also improve the arrival of tourists to the municipality.

A visit in which the councilor transferred to the airport management the problem arisen with the taxi service linked to the venue after the implementation of UBER. An issue “that already generates discrepancies and that we will address next week in a meeting, to protect the taxi sector in Granadilla de Abona.”

Miranda accompanied the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Hector Gomezto find out “the projects that it has underway, both in the parking area and the expansion of the terminal”, although the Isorano did not report the status of this project, valued as essential for the Island.

Both visited the facilities of the Brok-air aeronautical maintenance company and training center, located in the Granadilla Industrial Estate. Héctor Gómez highlighted the condition of international reference center in training of technicians and pilots, with 100% job placement and the plus of your “added value” contribution. The mayoress put this company as a reference for the objective: “We have to nurture this industrial estate with economic activities that generate new jobs and diversify it.”

Questioned about the state of the Port of Granadilla, Jennifer Miranda recalled that 70% of the work remains to be executed, she assured that Puertos de Tenerife has the economic reserves for the security and service buildings or road access. «There is no longer any debate about the port yes or no. We must finish this infrastructure and allocate it to activities that are respectful of the sustainable development that we propose from Granadilla de Abona », she stressed. “The port has been in this situation of paralysis for too long,” concluded the mayoress from Granada.
