Rosa Dávila: “There is a CC-PP agreement with a strong government and Martín facilitates it”

“There is a strong agreement, known to all and formalized between the Popular Party and Canarian Coalition to manage the Council of Tenerife; what he has done today (yesterday) Peter Martin with his announcement in the Noble Hall – to resign from office – is to facilitate the transition process and make it less cumbersome”. She assured it yesterday Rosa Davilanationalist candidate, in a joint press conference with the popular leader, Lope Afonso, after the constituent session regarding the decision of the socialist president that prevents the motion of censure planned by both political forces.

Afonso acknowledged that “it took us by surprise, us and everyone who was not from the environment straight of the outgoing president. He added that “the administrative procedure changes, but the objective is the same: a solid and stable government in the Cabildo, embodied in our political agreement. We have the opportunity to advance it and reduce deadlines.

Dávila did not want to say if she will be president next Monday: “I don’t want to anticipate events, but the roadmap remains the same with a large and solid majority for Tenerife to move forward and have a stable government, without extremism”. Both agreed that they are not scared or change their course, based on trust, loyalty and commitment for four years, the fact that they are now pending the use of the motion of no confidence tool.

During the constituent session, Dávila and Afonso, together with Mercedes Salazar (Vox) took the floor as heads of the electoral lists presented for election years on May 28 that obtained representation in order from lowest to highest. For five minutes each they broke down their speeches

The first to intervene was the number 1 of the formation that premieres at the Cabildo de Tenerife. The Vox counselor highlighted the “courage and hope” of the 28,000 people who voted for them despite the “demonization” and the “information blackout of some media.” He believes that they will be “useful and effective” and will provide “common sense” to defend the interests of the Island. He stressed that Vox will defend all victims “regardless of sex” and families Canary Islands supporting the education they want to give it, the “equity” of all municipalities “without sanitary cords”, the productive fabric and public services. He ended up extending his hand and cheering Tenerife and Spain.

For his part, Lope Afonso stated: “We come to build Tenerife together and for everyone.” He spoke of “illusion” at the beginning of a new stage and of “a project that meets the expectations of the citizens who gave us their trust on May 28.” He explained: «We appreciate the support of tens of thousands of Tenerife with the enormous satisfaction of having been the political project that has seen its representation increase to a greater extent in this plenary; but, at the same time, with the immense responsibility that comes with being depositaries of so much trust and so many expectations”.

He valued “a political formation that has and will continue to have as bulwarks of its contract with society the inalienable commitment to freedom and to placing citizens at the center of our political action.”

Afonso considers that “we are at a time when people, more than ever, need politicians to do our job. And for that, it is strictly necessary that we be able to move away, once and for all, from the tension and polarization of the debate.

He underlined as keys «responsibility with commitment, politics made from the height of vision, from calm and the will to dialogue, from consensus on the great issues of Tenerife ». Or, what is the same, “let’s lower the noise of the discussion and raise the level of politics.”

Lope Afonso claimed the role of the Cabildo as an institution, “a backbone entity of Tenerife. He concluded: “We are going to work so that he recovers his role on and for the Island,”

Rosa Dávila thanked the work of “those who have preceded us.” Especially “the commitment and dedication to the presidents and councilors who throughout history have sat in this Noble Hall.” She stated that she wants “a Cabildo with heart and head, capable of restoring hope and faith to Tenerife. A Cabildo that leads the advance of the Island». On this path “we must all go together and I know that we will be able to achieve it.”

Dávila values that “the Island demands great agreements, broad consensus, work and solutions. Right now, Coalición Canaria, reaches out to those who share this way of understanding the day-to-day management of the general interest of our Island. He added that “the government team that the people of Tenerife will have is strong, reliable, capable and stable.” And he concluded: «Tenerife expects a lot from us. We will not let them down.”
