By virtue of this alliance, Luzón Foundation gives Sinpromi specific technological material, which joins the one you already have in your Information Center for Autonomous Life (CIVAT). There the free loan of these devices is facilitated to a greater number of people. It will also allow the incorporation of assistive technologies, such as articulated arms, eye readers and the implementation of mobile devices and tablets. All aimed at improving the autonomy, independence and quality of life of these people.
In addition to Marián Franquet, the general director of the Luzón Foundation, María Milagros Escobar and the vice president of TeidELA, Hortensia Hernández, were present at the signing of the agreement.
Franquet thanked the entities for their involvement and work with people with ALS and assured that «from the Cabildo we take steps to facilitate the improvement of their quality of life, through specific technologies and the professional work of Sinpromi to respond to the exercise of their right to communication ”. The counselor values: «We are facing a disease whose effects are progressing with a serious threat to health and therefore we must offer support and collaboration to improve their quality of life.

The counselor understands that «This agreement is the basis for further research in the field of applied technologies and assistive products, as well as a promotion of good practices for other administrations, which allows growth and progress in the care of the sick and their families ”.

The Sinpromi Social Technological Innovation Area has experienced a great increase in the request for advice on the field of accessible communication, as well as the request for devices and support products to exercise the right to it of people with degenerative diseases and specifically with ALS. The technical team that forms this area, has focused its work, in collaboration with the University of La Laguna, in researching and designing methodologies that allow them to previously train their visual skills, and then introduce specific eye-tracking technology.
