SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 19 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Primary Care Management of the Health Area of Tenerife, attached to the Ministry of Health of the Government of the Canary Islands, has launched this Monday a new point for the extraction of analytical samples at the Los Cristianos Health Center.
This new service has the capacity to carry out up to 450 weekly sample collections, which will increase the comfort of the users since these sample collections will be carried out in the health center, which is a familiar and well-known environment. In addition, with the commissioning of this new sampling point, accessibility to health services is improved.
For the start-up of this extraction point, one of the Nursing consultations of the health center has been expanded and conditioned, a space that has been equipped with the furniture and the necessary material to carry out the sampling. In addition, a training process for extraction personnel has been carried out.
In this new service, extractions are made for routine analyses, for tests on pregnant women, for patients with diabetes and for children.
Since 1995, when the Los Cristianos Health Center began operating at its current location, the creation of a sampling point has been a constant demand by the population given the need to have a peripheral collection unit. of samples.
At the Los Cristianos Health Center, a total of 27,727 users are cared for, which will improve their quality of care, save time and resources since they will avoid trips to the Hospital del Sur as they had to do up to now for the extraction of samples for analysis .
