SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 16 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The general secretary of the Canary Islands Coalition (CC), Fernando Clavijo, has denied this Friday that his formation has signed pacts with VOX in the municipalities of Teguise (Lanzarote) and Granadilla (Tenerife) that are constituted this Saturday.
“We are going to vote for ourselves, there are no signed agreements, the mayor is chosen by the councilors, we chose to vote for ourselves,” he told reporters during a press conference in which he presented CC’s proposals for the Elections generals.
Clavijo has made it clear that “there are no agreements” with VOX in these two municipalities, where the generic agreement reached with the PP in many institutions on the islands does fit, making it clear that they continue to be “coherent” with their speech of not reaching agreements ” with extremes and populisms”. “We have nothing to do with it,” he added.
In this line, he has stressed that “the polls have spoken” and they are presented to those two municipal plenary sessions “without agreement” and with the will that their candidates, Olivia Duque (Teguise) and José Domingo Regalado (Granadilla), take office as mayors , without forgetting that the direction of the VOX vote in both consistories can be decisive.
