SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Government of the Canary Islands authorized this Thursday the signing of the second extension addendum and the modification of the cooperation agreement signed between the Ministry of Education, Universities, Culture and Sports and the Puntallana City Council to carry out the drafting of the project and execution of the Lateral protective enclosure in the sports field of the Infant and Primary Education Center (CEIP) Puntallana, in La Palma.
The purpose of this work is to guarantee the development of physical and sports activities, since the promotion of physical and sports activity is considered essential as a method to complete the physical and social development of youth, in addition to promoting healthy leisure alternatives, both during school hours and outside of it, which allows for healthier and more appropriate spaces.
On December 30, 2022, both parties signed a first addendum for the extension and modification of the cooperation agreement that contemplated an extension of its validity for a period of 12 months from that date and the term of execution of the work, until on December 31, 2023.
In March of this year, the Puntallana City Council again requested the extension of the execution period and justification of the works given the impossibility of awarding it according to the initial project for an amount of 100,308.48 euros, as well as the need for processing of the modified project to comply with all the commitments assumed within the established period, includes a note from the Government.
The architect responsible for the contract submitted a modification to the project document with an increase in the budget amounting to 46,023.81 euros, which means a total execution budget of 137,401.81 euros.
For this reason, the financing regime of the agreement is also modified, so that the Ministry and the City Council will jointly cover the increase in the budget, which consists of a complementary contribution by the Government of the Canary Islands of 23,992.18 euros for this same year, and another contribution by the City Council of 22,031.63 euros.
