The best routes with a beach in Tenerife

Tenerife It has everything that nature lovers seek: sea and mountains. Many tourists come to the Island amazed by its exoticism and natural exuberance, which they can find just a few hours away from the main European cities. But, in addition, one of the great attractions they seek are the Tenerife trails.

Dreamy beaches, small coves, natural pools… are images that are rarely found in their countries of origin. Nor do they have the opportunity to enjoy the views offered by the National Park. the Teide or a walk in the middle of a laurel forest.

For those who want to combine sea and mountains in the same activity, Tenerife is also the perfect option. For this reason, we show you the best routes with a beach on the Island.

Choose the one that suits you best and equip yourself to start the trail. These are the options:

Poris de Abona-Abades

In the municipality of Arico we find a simple circular route that goes from Porís de Abona to Abades. Surrounding the coast, the landscape of this southern area of the Island will seem too arid to you, in contrast to the green of the north. Its particular beauty is ideal for taking a souvenir image around its approximately 10 kilometers. A perfect path to walk with the family and discover those small coves that do not appear in the guides. During the journey, you can take a bath in some of the enabled beaches of both coastal towns.

Malpais de Güimar

Another similar path, with views of the sea, is the one you can take in the Malpais de Güimar. In this case, it is also a circular route that has as its origin and end the Puertito de Güímar. The Malpaís de Güímar is a Special Nature Reserve of great ecological importance, declared a protected area since 1987. Its volcanic landscape, where you can observe multiple endemic species, extends from Montaña Grande to the coast. In addition to its endemic species, This Tenerife trail has another attraction, and that is that there are caves in the area. The most spectacular is Cueva Honda or Cueva de los Burros (not visitable), with more than 100 meters long and up to 5 meters high in some of its sections. And finally, you can finish spending the day on the beaches of the Little port of Güímar.

Cruz del Carmen-La Punta

In the northern part of the Island we find a path that goes from the summit to the beach. With a maximum difference in altitude of 916 meters, this route will take you from Cruz del Carmen to Punta del Hidalgo on a route of medium difficulty, which combines a trail, a forest track and some road areas. Undoubtedly, a perfect option to enjoy a panoramic view of the Anaga coast. And to top it off, you can enjoy the waters of La Punta and, if you’re lucky, a spectacular sunset.

Masca ravine

The Barranco de Masca is one of those obligatory appointments if you are a lover of kicks. It begins in the hamlet of Masca, a place whose beauty attracts thousands of visitors every year. To do this trail you must be in good physical shape, since, currently, it is not possible to just go down and take a boat to Los Gigantes, a very popular option while it was allowed, but you must reserve a ticket (https://www.caminobarrancodemasca.com/) for download and upload access control. In addition, it is only possible to do this trail on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays, but it is undoubtedly a highly recommended route. When you get to Masca beach you can take a dip before taking the climb hard.

These are just some of the trails that you can do in Tenerife if you want to take advantage of the trip and take a bath in the sea after walking, but the Island has many corners that will surprise you.
