The Socialist Party (PSOE) and Canarian Coalition (CC) will govern in agreement in Tegueste and They will share the Mayor’s office. This formula time sharing will lead to the socialist Ana Rosa Mena and the nationalist Norberto Padilla They are local councilors for two years each, according to sources from both parties.
This point has been reached after the elections on May 28, the PSOE won them with the surprising advantage of a ballot over the nationalists: PSOE, 1,873 votes; CC, 1872. Both formations obtained six representatives, while the PP obtained 2; +R&D Tegueste, 1; United You Can (USP), 1, and Now Tegueste-Nueva Canarias (AT-NC), 1.
The PSOE and CC alliance, which will have a vast majority of 12 councilorscomes after a complex negotiation process in which an entente between nationalists and popular with one of the minority parties (conversations advanced both with +I+D Tegueste –a group of voters that was running for the first time– and with AT-NC).
The circumstance occurs that On the part of +I+D Tegueste there was an attempt to reach a pact similar to the one reached in 2007 by former mayor José Manuel Molina with a single mayor, the remembered grind. On that occasion, Molina, after appearing for the Centro Canario Nacionalista (CCN) and obtaining only one councillor, reached an agreement with CC and became a local alderman; now, the leader of the aforementioned group of voters, Ivana Maria Fernandezhe sought the same route, although without success.
After the talks between +I+D Tegueste and AT-NC did not come to fruition, the three minority parties joined in a kind of negotiating bloc. That has been followed by the agreement between socialists and nationalists.
