The tripartite of CC, PP and AUP will govern the City Council of San Juan de la Rambla

Canarian Coalition, Unified Assembly of the People-Sí Se Puede and Partido Popular signed an agreement by which they will govern the City Council of San Juan de la Rambla with the nationalist Juan Ramos as mayor. As a premise they established “The defense of the municipality against the route planned for the closure of the Insular Ring” by complying with the unanimous plenary agreement of December 23, 2021, which requires a new route for the road passing through the municipality.

The document was signed on Tuesday by Juan Ramos (CC), Juan Siverio (AUP-Sí Se Puede) and Dolores Rodríguez (PP), who headed the candidacies of their respective parties, as well as those responsible for the general secretariat of each formation, Jonay Mendez, Manuel Borges and Liria Falcón, respectively.

Juan Ramos explained that the municipal government that will elect the Plenary the day after tomorrow will be “open to citizen participation and in permanent dialogue with the social agents of the municipality.” Committed to putting aside ideological differences, he announced that “shortly” he will announce the agreed distribution of management areas.

In the government program it also appears as a priority «to urge the Insular Council of Aguas de Tenerife to develop the technical report on the feasibility of installing natural purification plants for the nuclei of medianías». The financing of actions to reduce municipal energy dependence by 50%, develop an agroecological plan in collaboration with farmers and support the Cooperativa Agrícola Las Medianías, expand the Social Welfare staff and develop actions to raise awareness and adapt to climate change They are part of the government program.

The AUP spokesman, Juan Siverio, assured that “experience shows that it has been impossible not only to defend this program, but even to manage with a minimum of efficiency and transparency when we have tried with the PSOE». His counterpart from the Popular Party, Dolores Rodríguez, defended that the agreement “is based on the principles of tolerance and moderation” and stressed that “we aspire to give stability to the municipality, as a fundamental factor to guarantee coexistence and social life.”

garachico

Among the municipalities in the north of the island whose future municipal government is under negotiation is Garachico, where the PSOE, led by Yazmina Luis Delgado, will decide in the next few hours whether to govern with CC and continue the period of José Heriberto gonzalez or if he prefers to govern with the formation led by Ramón Miranda, A’Gara. The next plenary will be formed by CC (5), A’Gara (4) and PSOE (2).

Cross port

The PSOE continues to negotiate the terms of the government agreement with the Portuense Citizen Assembly, to give continuity to the project that began in 2019. Marco González and David Hernández could close an agreement today that is taken for granted in the tourist city. In this way, they would leave the Popular Party (7) and the Canary Islands Coalition (2) in opposition.

Icod of the Wines

Alternativa Icodense (8), led by Javier Sierra, and Partido Popular (4), led by Cory Yanes, continue to debate the details of a joint government program. There is an agreement for the PP to make Sierra the next mayor of Icodense as the leader of the force with the most votes. The 12 councilors that add up will face seven from CC and two from the PSOE.

The Realejos

Two PSOE councilors resigned to take possession of the act: number 1, Miguel Agustín García, and number 4, Carmen Elisa Llanos. They will be replaced by numbers 6 and 7 on the socialist list, Victoria Febles and David Rodríguez, respectively.

South

In the southern region, negotiations continue in four of the five municipalities that require an agreement. Only Guía de Isora has closed the agreement. In Arona, the claims of Arona Somos Todos have prevented (until yesterday afternoon) completing the distribution of government areas, despite the agreement with CC and PP granted by the Mayor’s Office to the popular Fátima Lemes.

Meanwhile, in Granadilla de Abona the CC-PP-Vox agreement is pending the fringes that nationalists and popular are negotiating. Today may be the final day.

Arico remains waiting for Arico Somos Todos, who has not yet decided whether to assume a government quota with CC and PP or vote for himself, which would give the mayoralty to the socialist Olivia Delgado as the candidate from the most voted list.

The case of Güímar seems the most bogged down. The PP expects CC to comply with the regional pact and support Luisi Castro as the leader with the most votes, with 1,683 votes and four councilors more than CC (5). But the nationalist and acting mayor, Gustavo Pérez, can keep the position if he convinces his current partner, the PSOE (5), and adds the mayor of United Sí Podemos, something that in Güímar is commented as probable. The New Vote Canary Islands It also applies to the absolute majority of the CC, not to the PP.

Tacoronte postpones the plenary session

The Tacoronte City Council will not hold the extraordinary plenary session for the constitution of the new corporation this Saturday. The acting mayor, José Daniel Díaz, confirmed that the Consistory is waiting for the Central Electoral Board to resolve the appeal presented by CC – in which Somos Tacoronte appeared, according to its leader, Carlos Medina – for alleged anomalies in Vox ballots. Díaz explained that the delay in the resolution of the Central Electoral Board prevents compliance with the legal deadlines to convene the extraordinary plenary session (not urgent), so the closest date for the celebration is Tuesday, if the resolution arrives today. In addition, the first two on the list, Violeta Moreno and Carmen Díaz, renounced taking possession of the Sí Se Puede act. We must wait for the accreditation of number three, José Luis Almenara.
