Titsa launches a bus line in the Teide National Park

The new line with which Titsa It will travel in both directions inside the Park, it will maintain the number 342, corresponding to the one that connects with the South, and it will cost 2.10 euros each way.

Will cover the area between El Portillo Bajo and the Parador Nacional (Roques de García), with departures at 11:00, 12:30, 13:10 and 14:40 in the direction of the parador and with routes at 11:20, 12:30, 13:10 and 14: 00 in the direction of the visitor center. Line 342 will cost from 6.05 euros. It will leave Costa Adeje at 09:15 hours and the return will be at 15:15 hours from El Portillo.

Suspension is left behind

The transport company of the Cabildo of Tenerife Therefore, as of today, it re-establishes the aforementioned 342, with the renewed route through the interior of Las Cañadas, as well as the 348. Both connect the National Park with Costa Adeje and Puerto de la Cruz, respectively. They had been temporarily suspended due to low demand for Covid-19. Now they will begin to operate on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays with a daily route. Regarding the 348, whose price will be at 4.10 euros, it will depart from Puerto de la Cruz at 09:30 am and will return at 3:55 pm from the Parador.

The Minister of Mobility and President of Titsa, Enrique Arriaga, explains that this route seeks to “make the management and preservation of a protected area compatible with the interest it arouses among tourists and visitors.” The intention from the Cabildo is to offer “a more sustainable alternative both to go to the National Park and to know its main attractions.”

For her part, the Councilor for Natural Environment and Safety Management of the Cabildo, Isabel García, has indicated that This new line that crosses the National Park “is an old demand in the protected area management policy.”

Garcia assures that the initiative “goes along the lines of work on which we intend to stimulate the use of public transport.” The counselor considers that “this is the prelude to a new mobility management model, which leads to a more sustainable use and respectful of the environment.”

The company publicly points out that tickets for these lines can be paid in cash, with the Tenmás card, with the credit card or with the one or seven-day tourist cards, which include this journey to Mount Teide.

The idea is to make the visit to a protected natural space more sustainable and maintain the necessary balance between the interest in knowing it and visiting it with its preservation in response to its degree of fragility. The routes and schedules of lines 342 and 348 can be consulted on the website www.titsa.com, on Titsa’s helpline, 922 53 13 00, or through the transport company’s social networks.
