SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 15 (EUROPA PRESS) –

PSOE and Unidas Sí Podemos have signed a government agreement in the municipality of Los Silos that will give the Mayor’s Office to Carmen Luz Baso (PSOE) with Andrés Yoel Rodríguez (USP) as first deputy mayor.

This 28-page document contains the principles and programmatic aspects that have been negotiated during these 15 days and both formations recognize the “similarity” in their programs and ideas for the development of Los Silos.

The principles of the agreement are good governance, social justice, sustainable development and cooperation and solidarity and the objective of both formations is “to be a single, unified and solid team to improve the quality of life of the Silenses”.

PSOE and Unidas Sí Podemos also seal an ethical code in which it is made clear that “integrity, transparency, diligence, honesty, responsibility and respect must be above any other aspect” while including a ” commitment” not to carry out a motion of censure or to support the political groups that present it.

DISTRIBUTION OF AREAS

The document also contemplates the distribution of areas between the two progressive formations with transversal areas attached to the Mayor’s Office, specifically Equality and Diversity, Security, Modernization and Press and Communication.

The transversal areas attached to the First Tenure of Mayor, in the hands of United Yes We Can, will be Transparency, Citizen Participation and Open Government.

Regarding the areas of political action, United Sí Podemos will manage Legal Assistance, Human Resources, Social Welfare, Animal Health and Welfare, which remain in the hands of Andrés Yoel Rodríguez and María Carmen Ramos Contreras, collects a joint note from both formations.

For its part, the PSOE will hold Treasury, Planning and Housing; Culture and Education; Infrastructures, Public Services and Sports; and Local Development, Natural Environment and Water. These areas will be divided between Carmen Luz Baso, Francisco Sosa Contreras, Luz Melisa Palenzuela Hernández and Adán López Hernández.

VERY SIMILAR POLITICAL PROJECTS

For the future mayoress, Carmen Luz Baso (PSOE), this agreement is “a governance agreement” based on political projects that were “very similar, with a similar way of doing government” and on those “small discrepancies” that have been raised , have been discussed and have been defined.

Baso believes that it is “the best governance agreement to give stability to Los Silos during these four years”, emphasizing that the objective is for “the town to progress, to transform itself” and to give guarantees to the Silense population “so that the change in the municipality of Los Silos is possible”.

For his part, Andrés Yoel Rodríguez (USP) points out that this negotiation process “has been an example” of how an agreement can be reached.

“We have sat down for three meetings and the first two have been very long. We have discussed, we have debated, we have seen the points where there were more discrepancies in our programs and we tried to try to reach agreements,” he highlights.

Rodríguez agrees that the programs of the two formations that will form the government converged “on many issues” and also understood that Los Silos “voted change” and the municipality “deserved a change of course.”

Rodríguez believes that Los Silos demands that the government group be a “solid, stable team that works for the benefit of the Silense citizens.”
