On June 27, at six in the afternoon, the inauguration of the new Island Corporation will take place, with the socialist Pedro Martín as president, as his candidacy was the most voted in the elections on May 28. Just one day later, on June 28, the Canary Islands Coalition (CC) and the Popular Party (PP), which have already signed a government pact, will present the motion of censure that will wrest power from the PSOE, which lost all its support to achieve a pact that would keep him in charge of the Cabildo after 28M.

The plenary session for the constitution of the Cabildo has been convened by the acting president, while the presentation of the motion of censure has been confirmed by both formations to Europa Press, so that the debate on the aforementioned motion will take place ten days later, on July 12, at 12 noon.

CC and PP add up to 18 councilors, compared to the 11 obtained by the PSOE and the two by Vox, which enters the Cabildo for the first time, for which they hold the absolute majority of the insular plenary session. By virtue of the pact signed between CC and PP, the nationalist Rosa Dávila will be the first president in the 110-year history of the Cabildo and the popular Lope Afonso will occupy the position of vice president.

The agreement includes the design of an insular Government with 10 ministries, in such a way that CC will manage the areas of Equality, Diversity, Finance and Strategic Projects; Presidency, Administration, Public Service, Territorial Planning and Strategic Planning; Natural Environment, Sustainability, Security and Emergencies; Mobility (includes the management of Titsa and Metropolitano de Tenerife, and Highways); Employment, Education and Youth, and Research, Innovation and Development.

For the PP, the areas of Tourism and Foreign Action are reserved; Social action; Inclusion and Volunteering; Industry, Commerce, Primary Sector and Animal Welfare; Culture, Museums and Sports, and Municipal Cooperation, Institutional Relations and Housing. The ten councilors of the Canary Islands Coalition who will take office next Wednesday are: Rosa Dávila, José Miguel Ruano, Efraín Medina, María Eulalia García, Juan Manuel Acosta, Blanca Pérez, Juan José Martínez, Serafín Mesa, María Candelaria Padrón and Dámaso Arteaga.

The eight councilors corresponding to the PP are: Lope Afonso, José Carlos Acha, Águeda Fumero, Manuel Fernández, Sonia Hernández, Valentín González, Yolanda Moliné, and Ana Krysten Martín.

The document that both formations have signed, and on which their government will pivot for the next four years, includes twenty points with the main proposals of the electoral program of the two formations.
