He National Geographic Institute (IGN) has recorded a seismic series on the west coast of Tenerife with at least 40 earthquakesfrom 8:00 p.m. on Sunday until 6:30 a.m. this Monday.
Of these earthquakes, 15 have been located, most of them at a depth of between 40 and 50 kilometers with a maximum magnitude of 1.2 (mbLg).
Due to its “small magnitude and great depth” no earthquake has been felt by the population, IGN sources tell EFE, adding that this seismic series “does not mean a priori any change” in the state of volcanic activity on the island , due to the “low number of events and their small size”.
