Javier Cabrera, new president of the Círculo de Empresarios del Sur

Javier Cabrera is the new president of the Circle of Entrepreneurs and Professionals of the South of Tenerife (CEST) by decision of the general assembly. Graduated in Law and with an MBA, in his professional career he has been land manager, worked in real estate and tourism. Linked to the Círculo since its creation, in 1999, he served as coordinator of the management board and of the board of directors for 13 years and was general secretary since 2015.

The new president of CEST congratulated his predecessor, Roberto Ucelay, for the work he carried out and thanked him for the involvement he showed during his eight years in office. “I hope to deliver to my successor, in the future, a Círculo de Empresarios that, at least, is in the same magnificent condition in which I receive it today,” he highlighted.

Continuing the line of “growth, rigor and credibility” that has defined CEST since its foundation, “thanks to the work of my predecessors,” he said, is the objective that Cabrera Amador sets for himself. In his first address to the associates in this new stage of the CEST, he assured that he was excited and that he wants to transmit this state to all the members of the organization, to whom he asked for an active participation in the operation of the Circle, “with their contributions and, of course, with their criticisms when they think it appropriate, because these are also the way to improve,” he said.

Javier Cabrera made himself available to the business community of the region “to build the South of the future” and continue working on the great challenges of the business community. In its roadmap is the defense of the tourism industry, betting on modernization and rejecting tourismophobia, the commitment to administrative simplification that attracts investment, road infrastructures that provide a solution to the existing blockade, as well as the commitment to collaborate with other business associations and with public administrations to achieve these objectives.

The CEST general assembly lived, in its 29th meeting, the farewell of its seventh president, Roberto Ucelay, who valued the experience that Javier Cabrera acquired over the last 20 years and announced that he will continue to be part of the board of directors with the vindictive character maintained until now.

The change in the Presidency of the Circle of Entrepreneurs and Professionals of the South of Tenerife was attended by representatives of other business associations, such as CEOE, Fauca, AERO, Aseme, Fenorte Gran Canaria, Zona Centro Santa Cruz, Canarian Association of Renewable Energies and Fepeco. There was no shortage of advisers Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo de Tenerife, as well as mayors and councilors of the municipalities of the region, who showed their support for Javier Cabrera as a business representative.
