He Santa Cruz de Tenerife Town Hall has approved the extension of the rescue and first aid service on the beaches and bathing areas of the municipality, including the coast of valleseco.

This measure implies an additional investment of 376,452 euros to the existing contract, which amounts to almost four million euros until 2025. According to the statement issued by the city council, the objective is to guarantee the availability of this service in the new bathing areas open to the public , known as The block and acapulco beach.

Santa Cruz de Tenerife already has this service for the rest of the beaches and bathing areas in the municipality, in compliance with the obligations established by the regional decree that regulates the rules and instructions for human safety and the coordination of emergencies on beaches and other maritime bathing areas.

The municipal government has focused its efforts on guaranteeing the safety of the coastal areas most frequented by citizens during the months of June, July, August and September, extending this measure to Easter as well. In addition, a continuous hours of service has been established 09:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m..

Specifically, this initiative will involve the gradual hiring of up to six lifeguards in said areas, who will perform various functions. Likewise, additional support will be provided in the form of a zodiac boat, a jet ski, an ambulance and a 4×4 quad.

In addition, a fully equipped first aid station will be implemented with all the necessary material to carry out rescues, as well as signage and communication equipment. These additional measures aim to increase security at sea access points.
