The Government of the Canary Islands invests 8.1 million in four digital health projects

SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, June 8 (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Governing Council of the Canary Islands authorized this Thursday, at the proposal of the Ministry of Finance, Budgets and European Affairs, a multi-annual expenditure of 8,135,747.81 euros from the Canary Islands Health Service, in order to carry out certain actions of policies promoting digital health.

Specifically, these are four projects called Farmaindustria Technical Office, MiSCS Transformation, Pharmaceutical Expenditure Evaluation Unit and Pharmaceutical Prescription Improvements, which will be carried out between the years of 2023 and 2024 and have a budget of 1,059,663.80 euros, 1,583 ,000 euros, 3,935,196.01 and 1,557,888 euros, respectively.

In 2021, the SCS received an endowment of 10,237,584.47 euros from the Program of measures to improve the efficiency and sustainability of the National Health System in the field of Digital Health and its distribution criteria, approved by the SNS Interterritorial Council.

These funds were assigned and received by the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands in the last quarter of 2021 under the heading Policy for the Promotion of Digital Health, for the execution of the approved projects/programs, within a maximum period of 3 years, from of the year following the effective transfer, that is, from 2022 to 2024 both inclusive, includes a note from the Executive.

The SCS presented a total of 6 projects aligned with the criteria established by the Ministry of Health that were approved in March 2022, of which these four will be carried out between 2023 and 2024.
