The Government of the Canary Islands, through the General Directorate of Security and Emergencies, has declared a wind alert situation in La Palma (summits, west) and Tenerife (north) starting at 00:00 on Tuesday, June 6.
This decision is made taking into account the information provided by the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet) and other available sources, and in application of the Specific Emergency Plan of the Canary Islands for Risks of Adverse Meteorological Phenomena (PEFMA).
According to the Aemet forecast, the wind will mainly affect the northwest slope and peaks, as well as the El Paso area on La Palma, where maximum gusts of 90 km/h are expected.
