CC and PP negotiate in Granadilla and Güímar, although without progress

Francisco Linares, insular secretary of the Canary Islands Coalition in Tenerife, acknowledged yesterday that the agreement between his party and the PP in Granadilla is more than likely, “even if it is to govern in a simple majority” – they would add 12 councilors, for the 11 of the PSOE, without count the two from Vox-, and, although the popular candidate, Marcos Antonio Rodríguez, denied yesterday on Onda Tenerife that there were negotiations for it, Linares insisted that on Tuesday they already talked about the agreement.

This alliance of the two forces, which they already agreed to in the last term, would leave the socialist Jennifer Miranda, winner of the elections (11 councilors), out of the Mayor’s Office, since she did not have the two Vox minutes. Miranda said yesterday that “I am going to speak with all the parties to form a majority, which is what the people of Granadilla have wanted.”

Marcos Antonio Rodríguez, who during the campaign launched a harsh attack on his former colleagues Marcos and Yanira González, now in the Canary Islands Coalition, affirms that “we do not have red lines, neither with the PSOE nor with Vox, contrary to what Fernando Clavijo has said with Vox”. Miranda (PSOE), in case of not reaching an agreement with the PP, would only be mayor if the popular abstain or vote for themselves on the 17th, since it is ruled out that the two mayors of the Santiago Abascal party vote for the socialist councillor.

Less clear is the CC-PP pact in Güímar that the insular secretary of the popular, Emilio Navarro, has proposed to the nationalists. Francisco Linares acknowledges that “it will be very difficult to reach that agreement in Güímar, due to personal and judicial matters with the candidate”, apart from remembering that she “already kicked us out of the Government”. What he does not say is that CC does not join the PSOE (five and five councilors) to revalidate the pact that made Airam Puerta and Gustavo Pérez mayors. Nor do they have the support of the two keys to achieve a majority, because Nayra Caraballero (Unidas Sí Podemos) would not support the nationalists and Carlos Llarena (Nueva Canarias) affirms that “we will never support the PSOE while people who have made me are in that party. a lot of damage.”

Caraballero met yesterday with Luisi Castro (PP), winner of the elections (nine councilors), but “out of courtesy, not because we can reach an agreement, something difficult, but our assembly will decide,” he said.

In the event that USP does not vote for CC-PSOE, the sum of PP and NC would be enough to give Luisi Castro the Mayor’s Office, since his is the list with the most votes. Everything goes through a CC-PP agreement or a PP government with the support of the mayor of NC, the former socialist.
