The leader of Canary Green Dragon TreeAlberto Rodríguez, was willing yesterday to the possibility of being part of a progress pact in La Lagunamade up of the two councilors obtained by his party last Sunday, together with the other two from United You Can and the ten obtained by the PSOE, which became the force with the most votes, and which would give the necessary majority of 14 to form the new local governmentwith the socialist Luis Yeray Gutiérrez repeating as mayor.

And although he said that from his party there were no conditions in terms of “positions or names”, he did condition an agreement to include the basic lines of his program, with deadlines, and waiting for the Electoral Board to confirm the final scrutiny today. , for that fourth councilor that the PP claims and that would be at the expense of the second act of Drago Verdes.

“Right now we are putting a lot of our efforts into fighting the count. And, from there, the conversations and the configuration of the different options for the municipality”, began by stating Alberto Rodríguez at a press conference.

In this sense, to questions from the media about his support for that pact for progress in La Laguna, he replied that “the PSOE clearly won the elections, Podemos got a councilor, Yes, we can get one, Drago Verdes got two and, in principle , arithmetic seems that it could add up in this way”, although he emphasized on several occasions that “for us the fundamental thing is the program”. But he pointed out that “obviously, logic and common sense seem to indicate that these proposals that we are putting on the table are much more likely to be fulfilled” with PSOE and United perhaps with other forces “that are in the municipality.”

“We are a dam to the right and extreme right, it is obvious, that excludes that possibility” of negotiation, Rodríguez added in this regard, who pointed out that “obviously we do not like that the right returns to the Canary Islands institutions, we try to avoid that, in some places like La Laguna it is foreseeable that we will avoid it”.

In this sense, the candidate of Drago Verdes Canarias indicated that “for us the priority is the lagoons and lagoons” and the negotiations “will begin as soon as the count is made on Friday. We will start next week without delay, we are fully available”.

He pointed out that there has already been some first contact with PSOE and Unidas can “to share with the teams and start talking and try to reach agreements.” “For us it does not depend on the feeling, but on compliance with the program, if there is a majority in the City Council willing to what we have put on the table, they will have the support of Drago,” he added.

In this regard, he stated that they do not have “conditions for positions or names” for the negotiations, but they do have some “main lines that we will put on the table”, with deadlines for compliance. One of them, he explained, has to do with the housing problem: “For us it is key to declare the entire municipality as a stressed area, an immediate moratorium on vacation rentals, analyze how many of these homes there are, in what situation of regularization and how affects prices and knowing and acting on the empty housing that there is”.

In addition to “everything that has to do with public services”, extending public and free nursery schools, as well as day centers for the elderly; the regeneration and recovery of public spaces for the residents, such as the Taco Mountain, and the “stop on touristification”, with the diversification of the productive model, “valuing the archaeological heritage”.

United you can

Meanwhile, the United Nations was informed yesterday of the celebration, last Wednesday, of its Lagunera Citizen Assembly, where the party’s electoral data was analyzed and the assembly expressed its willingness to work towards achieving “a left-wing government as a reflection of that majority of progress that was achieved on Sunday”, affirmed the candidate of Unidas se puede, Rubens Ascanio, who reported that a negotiation commission has been appointed that will initially explore the agreement with PSOE and Drago Verdes.

For Ascanio, “a listening period opens”, where they will also meet with other political groups in the municipal area, except with Vox.
