Linares and Ruano, the CC negotiators for the Cabildo and the municipalities

The first insular Executive of Canarian Coalition after elections last Sunday decided to create two commissions to negotiate agreements in the town halls and in the Cabildo de Tenerife. They will be led by Francisco Linares, Secretary General of the Island, and by José Miguel Ruano, number 2 on the list of the Island Corporation, respectively. The island’s nationalists were “satisfied” with the electoral results that will allow them to “negotiate stable pacts.” Linares, also re-elected mayor with an absolute majority in La Orotava, summarized: «The polls have given us a clear message: a change is needed in the municipalities, both in Tenerife and in Canary Islands».

Linares valued: “We have made it clear that serious opposition work has allowed us to obtain this citizen credit.” The nationalist joy is greater “for all those who had buried us four years ago.” He made it clear that “there are many scenarios open in the municipality, as many as in 25 town halls, since the PSOE it has six absolute majorities, CC five and the PP, two».

With these scenarios open, “we have already started working,” said the nationalist leader, adding: “We want to form stable, solvent governments that reverse situations that in these four years have harmed important municipalities.

He stressed: «The polls have given us a clear message: in the municipalities, in Tenerife and in the Canary Islands, changes are requested. If not, the pacts that were made in 2019 to kick out the Canary Coalition would have been forged now and it has not been like that ». Linares made it clear that “we are going to try to reach the largest possible number of mayors through generosity. We are aware of the situation we are in and we must not put anyone’s personalities or egocentrism first. You have to put the public above anything else and for that we have programs, serious, solvent and experienced people”.

Together with Linares, Jonathan Martín Fumero and Ana Dorta will form the commission for negotiations at the municipal level. He assured that “the only red lines we put with Podemos and Vox. With the rest, everything can be discussed and agreed with generosity.

However, Linares made it clear that “we are going to work as a team and with the guidelines given by the party. We are an organization and that is the mandate that the Insular Executive has just given us”.

The nationalist leader reflected: «The normal thing is to go along the same line of cohesion, but it is not possible for everything to add up because in the municipalities sometimes there are issues that prevent the agreements from coming out. 100% cascading agreements have never occurred and will never occur.

For her part, the candidate for the Cabildo de Tenerife, Rosa Davilamade it clear that “Canary Coalition won the elections on the Island and the results are very satisfactory.” Dávila announced that the person designated to be spokesperson and lead the negotiation in the Cabildo is José Miguel Ruano, who will be accompanied by Blanca Pérez and Carlos Alonso, former CC spokesperson.

They, he explains, “will sit down with the different parties to discuss and work on an agreement that provides stability. Informal contacts have already been made and from now on we will start working with documents.’ “We have collected the mandate of the citizenry to promote moderate and alternative governments to those of the last four years,” he valued.

The candidate for president of the Cabildo concluded: “We are a government party that is committed to moderation. We have been the retaining wall in the institutions of the extreme left and the extreme right; These commissions will work to form stable and moderate governments.

Timer running towards 17J

Saturday, June 17. That is the key date for the Canary Islands Coalition, that of the constitution of the 31 municipalities of Tenerife. Francisco Linares commented in this regard that “the timer is already running.” He added that “there is a general election 45 days away and we have rushed to have everything closed even a few days before.” He pointed out that “in the municipality the spokesperson will be me.” He also thanked “the massive support they have given us and the immeasurable work of the controllers and attorneys.” He stressed that “the public has sent us a message: return to the front line, to be partners in what is happening in Tenerife and the Canary Islands from the municipality. For the government of the majority of the 31 municipalities of Tenerife essential in what happens in the next 15 days. | JDM
