Domínguez guarantees that the agreement with CC will not be a “barter”

Pact yes. But never a mere “barter” or a simple “exchange of cards”. The president of the Popular Party (PP) in Canary Islands, Manuel Dominguez, expressed himself this Thursday in these terms in relation to the government agreement that his people are already negotiating with the CC nationalists. That was in the afternoon, a few hours after the first formal meeting – actually the talks began almost on the same election night as soon as it was verified that the only possibility of a stable government was in the center right – between the negotiating commissions of one and the other. game. After that meeting, in which both Jose Miguel Barraganof DC, as Cop Suarezfrom the PP, clarified that the intention of both political forces is to replicate the government agreement in as many councils and town halls as possible, Domínguez specified that this in no way means that the popular ones are going to participate in a simple exchange of positions and departments in this or that corporation.

After the celebration of the autonomous board of directors of the PP, by far the one with the happiest faces of those held in recent times at the party headquarters in Santa Cruz de Tenerifethe popular leader thus wanted to set precisely the limits of the negotiation with Canarian Coalition. It is true that both the nationalists and the representatives of the PP have been taking great care not to speak openly about cascading deals. Not in vain, these agreements, in which the greater pact is transferred without taking into account the peculiarities of each institution to any council or city council in which it has a majority, are often a reason for conflict for the parties. Without going any further, because the candidate or municipal leader of one of the parties can get along like cat and dog with the candidate or leader of the political force with whom he is forced to agree. This is what he meant this Thursday Mario Cabreramain representative of CC in Fuerteventurawhen he warned that the cascading deals They are often the source of problems. Be that as it may, Domínguez settled the issue by explaining that one thing is the increasingly close agreement with the Coalición para el Government of the Canary Islands and quite another, the situation in other institutions. That’s why “chromes” will not be exchanged in town halls and councils, the popular leader insisted, within the framework of the negotiation for the regional Executive.

There will be no “change of stickers” and each case will be analyzed individually, says the leader of the PP

«If we talk about one town hall or another, well It depends on who we can talk to about the formation of governments», deepened Domínguez, who added that in Tenerife “it is where perhaps in more town halls there is the possibility that the PP forms governments with one or two different formationsbecause that’s how the citizens decided. Consequently, the PP is in talks with the Coalition “about those municipalities in which there is the possibility” of a limited government, but that’s as far as it goes. In other words, what they are not going to enter is juggling in entities in which an agreement with the nationalists would not guarantee stability.

Ester, Reverón and Estalella have been appointed to the campaign committee for July 23

Domínguez even pointed out that they came to his head the cases of Tacoronte, in the north of Tenerifewhere Nueva Canarias “is also a fundamental element”, or from Granadilla de Abona, to the south of the island of Teide, where “it is difficult for two formations to reach an agreement, so there will have to be a third”. Ultimately, he emphasized “It’s about analyzing municipality by municipality”and the same in the cases of councils, and also “relationships between people”, so that the aforementioned conflicts are not generated.

Regarding the general elections on July 23, in the PP, revitalized by the good results obtained in the local and regional elections, they aspire to become the force with the most votes in the Archipelago. Carlos Ester, Luz Reverón and José Estalella form their campaign committee.
