On the occasion of the celebration of canary dayhe next Tuesdaythe City Council of Santa Cruz de Tenerife, through the Autonomous Organization for Festivals and Recreational Activities (oafar), has organized an extensive program of activities for the day, which includes more than 12 hours of actions cultural, gastronomic, folkloric, sports and leisure.
The day, which commemorates the first session of the Parliament of the Canary Islands, also marks the end of the programming of the founding festivities of the capital of Tenerife, which began on April 21.
The program of events will start at 10:00 a.m. and end at 10:00 p.m. with a fireworks display that will put an end to the traditional concert by Los Sabandeños, in La Candelaria square. The Plaza Isla de la Madera will host the I Copa Ciudad de Santa Cruz domino tournament starting at 10:00 am. At 11:00 a.m. the Animal Exhibition will begin in Campo de Castro, which can be visited until 5:00 p.m.
The Pancho Camurria Municipal Pavilion celebrates the City of Santa Cruz de Tenerife Boxing Tournament starting at 12:00 noon.
The Canary Islands Day Institutional Struggle will also be held at noon on the ground set up near the Plaza de España. The Club de Lucha Canaria Campitos and Castro Morales from Gran Canaria will participate in this fight.
