The city council presents the program around the celebration of the Day of the Canary Islands

The Santiago del Teide City Council has presented the program of acts and events that will take place in the coming days to commemorate the celebration of Canary Islands Day for another year and that will run from May 26 to 30.

In this sense, the acts will begin this Friday, May 26 in the three municipal libraries where there will be an exhibition on the occasion of Canary Islands Day called “Words to our Earth” that will be made up of the texts dedicated to our land by the users of all ages as well as local authors.

On May 29, starting at 12:00 noon, release of books by Canarian authors throughout the municipality. At 7:00 p.m. at the Tamaimo Social Center, there will be a literary act entitled “Tierra de Versos” that will feature a performance by Marta Solís and guest writers Carlos Caraballo, Domingo Batista and Lola Suárez. During the course of the act, presentation of the “Marcapáginas, Especial Día de Canarias” with our local writers and writers.

On May 30, Canary Islands Day, from 10:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. agro-artisan market in the Puerto de Santiago square. From 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the workshop “Eco-Fauna Canaria en Carton: Baifos” will be held by 4Bichos. At 12:00 pm parade by the Araza Cultural and Folkloric Association.

In the afternoon, specifically, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., different native workshops will be held (Silbo Gomero, Juego del Palo, Salto del Pastor,…) carried out by the Cultural Association for the Dissemination of Canarian Heritage “Patrimonio South”. At 4:00 p.m., musical parade by the Tayme Cultural and Folkloric Association. Starting at 6:30 p.m., the day closes with the Concert of the Tenerife Federation of Bands on Canary Islands Day by the Santiago del Teide Music Band.
