The PSOE councilor in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife City Council and number 2 of the candidacy that this party presents to the Consistory, José Ángel Martín, has been arrested for an alleged attack that occurred this afternoon during an electoral visit at the soccer field of El Board.

As confirmed to EFE by two political sources of different sign, the number 2 on the list headed by Patricia Hernández had attended that visit along with other members of the candidacy and was rebuked by someone from the club for recording the facilities inside the changing rooms.

According to Martín in a video that has gone viral, this person attacked him twice and he, trying to defend himself, threw him to the ground.

In the fall, the sources indicate, that man broke his leg and had to be transferred to a health center.

In the video, recorded after the alleged assault, José Ángel Martín is seen waiting for the arrival of the Local Police who apparently were the ones who arrested him and handed him over to the National Police.

The sources have indicated that Martín would have asked to declare as soon as possible.

Police sources consulted by EFE have indicated that they would not report the case as it was an event that occurred during the electoral campaign.
