SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 23. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife has approved today Tuesday the agreement to be signed with the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Islands Housing Institute (ICAVI) and the public company Visocan, for the execution on the island of the Housing Plan for Canarias and, specifically, for the expansion of the public housing stock for rent.
For this, the Cabildo de Tenerife will allocate just over 5 million euros, which will be distributed, for the moment, for the acquisition of real estate in the municipalities of Arona, Puerto de la Cruz, Granadilla and Adeje, which are among the most stressed of the island.
This agreement will make it possible to acquire homes and then make them available to the municipalities, with which the appropriate agreements will be signed, so that, in turn, they favor affordable rent.
The Cabildo de Tenerife has already carried out previous work with Visocan and the Government of the Canary Islands to identify what type of properties can be used for this purpose and in what areas. The objective is to finance the acquisition of properties under construction, as well as those whose works are finished or practically finished.
