The Governing Council of the Cabildo de Tenerife approved, in its session yesterday, the agreement to be signed with the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Islands Housing Institute (Icavi) and the public company Visocan, for the execution in Tenerife of the Canary Islands Housing Plans and, specifically, for the extension of the public park of homes for rent affordableas announced yesterday by the Island Corporation.
For this purpose, the Cabildo de Tenerife reported that it will allocate just over five million euros, which will be distributed, for the moment, for the acquisition of real estate in the municipalities of Arona, Puerto de la Cruz, Granadilla and Adeje, which are listed among the most stressed on the island regarding the issue of housing.
Specifically, this agreement will make it possible to acquire homes to later make them available to the town halls, with which the corresponding agreements will be signed, so that, in turn, they favor affordable rent. From the Cabildo de Tenerife they indicated that they have already carried out previous work with Visocan and the Government of the Canary Islands to identify what type of properties can be used for this purpose and in what specific areas.
The objective is to finance the acquisition of properties that are under construction, as well as those whose work has been finished or practically finished.
