Guía de Isora commemorates the 70th anniversary of the festival in honor of San Isidro Labrador. From Friday to Sunday, the Isorano town will host the traditional pilgrimage, concerts, festivals and children’s activities. The City Council encourages residents to decorate their balconies and facades along the pilgrimage route and asks attendees to come in traditional Canarian clothing.
It will take place on Sunday, after the mass at 11:30 am. With folkloric groups, floats and parrandas, the pilgrimage will go through the streets Arriba, Campo, Pérez Galdós, El Arado, Agrupación Musical Isorana, La Entrada and de Abajo until reaching the Plaza de Nuestra Señora de the light. Subsequently, the festival will begin, with the participation of the Sabrosa and Wamampy orchestras.
The program begins today, at 7:00 p.m., the mass will be celebrated in the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Luz. Then, at 8:30 p.m., the traditional pilgrimage festival will take place, in which attendees will enjoy the traditional cuisine they bring. The Town Hall will provide wine, chairs and tables to enjoy the evening.
The party will be enlivened, among others, by groups from the Municipal School of Leisure and Sports, in the Canarian Dance and String and Singing sections; the groups of the Third Age, the Parranderos de Tágara Group, the Andares Isleños Group, the Guanapay Folkloric Group of Lanzarote, the Parranda La Quincena and the Sámara de Guía de Isora Municipal Folkloric Group.
Tomorrow, the party will continue at 5:30 p.m., in the Plaza de Nuestra Señora de la Luz, with children’s workshops organized in collaboration with the PFAE Revive your identity. At 7:00 p.m., another mass will be officiated, followed by the concert by Los Sabandeños, which will begin at 9:00 p.m. The day will end at 11:30 p.m. with a festival animated by Maikel Jiménez and the Guaracha orchestra.
