He PSOE of Tenerife brings to the elections to the Cabildo a package of measures to “democratize culture and expand the opportunities of access for the citizens of the island, regardless of the municipality in which you reside, as well as to reinforce the support given to the development of companies, associations and entities in the cultural sector of Tenerife”.
These are some of the issues addressed by the president of the Cabildo and candidate for re-election, Peter Martinin the meeting he held with representatives of the cultural sector of Tenerife, in which the current insular director of the area, Alejandro Krawietz, and the socialist candidate for Parliament for Tenerife and PSOE Organization Secretary also participated. During the meeting, Pedro Martín reaffirmed his commitment to continue working hand in hand with the municipalities with the aim of decentralizing cultural resources through the Insular Plan for Cultural Infrastructures that contemplates more than 25 scenic spaces in 31 municipalities and whose execution period has been extended until the end of 2024.
The island president recalled that “at the beginning of the mandate we found a Plan that lacked planning and did not have a balanced distribution of resources by counties or areas.” He added that “today an investment of 52 million has been made, to which will be added the 10 million euros that have been allocated in this year’s budget to carry out works to improve and expand cultural infrastructures in six municipalities such as Buenavista, La Guancha, Los Realejos, La Orotava, Los Silos and La Laguna».
In line with this objective of promoting culture throughout Tenerife, the PSOE proposes as the next step “to design and put into operation an island plan for the management, planning and programming of the municipal centers attached to the Insular Network of Cultural Infrastructures, so that that citizen access to quality international, national and regional cultural programming be guaranteed”.
