Moya, the town that grows

The PP and PSOE candidates reject future road plans that affect the population of their coast

Barely three months after the May 2019 elections, the municipality of Moya was facing what may be the worst catastrophe of the town’s history, when on August 10 a Forest fire in which for the first time part of the population had to be evicted, and the town of fountainsprelude to what would later come with the pandemic for the covid 19.

Despite these losses, the census of the locality, and contrary to other inland localities, has come growing gradually just since the middle of the year of 2019, when it registered 7,696 inhabitants compared to the 7,870 of the last record of 2022, according to the INE data.

The mayor of the village Raul Afonsocandidate to revalidate the position for the Partido Popular, is committed to continue making the population grow, for which it is necessary to rely on a General Management Plan that must be approved in the next mandate, a document that has already been “put out to tender and has been working on for a year.”

To this is added three large lines of action, “to act on the infrastructure of the neighborhoods and the old town, with projects in tender and others in drafting, for which there is a budget of €11 million In works”.
