Official data says that five workers died in 2022 as a result of heat stroke while working on the street. We know that there are more cases than ever before being registered, because the more precarious, the more submerged, the more migrant the work, the less evidence remains. The Government has just approved a decree to force companies to protect their workers during peak heat while it is confirmed that 2023 is the driest and hottest year since records exist.

We spoke with Laura Olías, a journalist from elDiario.es specialized in labor issues, to find out what the decree that the Executive has approved to deal with a fact that is already here consists of: extreme heat as a risk factor at work.
