Blas Rivero from Gran Canaria is proclaimed absolute cycling champion of the Canary Islands

Blas Rivero brilliantly proclaimed himself the winner of the Canary Islands absolute road championship. The Z2 Bike team from Gran Canaria was the fastest to cover the two laps of the 38-kilometre circuit that passed through the municipalities of Santa Lucia de Tirajana and Agüimes, investing a time of three hours, 13 minutes and one second. In it female section, victory rested with Andrea Pérez Figueroa from Tenerifeof the Cantabria Sports-Río Miera team.

The rest of categories

In addition to Blas Rivero and Andrea Pérez, in Elitethe following riders were also crowned champions of the Canary Islands in their respective categories: Mario Bargue Olivares (Tenerife Bike Point), in Under 23 male; José Carlos Suárez Medina (Esetec-Salazones R. Fuentes), in junior men; Daniel Lado de la Nuez (Gran Canaria Bike Team) and Nekal Montesdeoca Marrero (CC Dorati-MoyaBike), in cadets; Daniel Santana Fernández (CD Bike Team Project) and Isabel Castro Caraballo (Tenerife Bike Point), in Master 30A; Gerard Sánchez Cabrera (CC Blue Power Point) and Tania Ramos Rodríguez (CC Loro Parque), in Master 30B; Javier Ramos Domínguez (CC Loro Parque), in Master 40A; Germán Hernández Ramos (CC Iduna) and Monserrat Pereira Regueira (Arrival Tenerife Féminas), in Master 40B; Adriano Cordovés Dorta (CC Loro Parque), in Master 50A; Juan Pedro Sánchez Fernández (Tenerife Peloton), in Master 50B; Andrés González González (CC Picachos), in Master 60A; and Tomás Marrero Castellano (Orba Orotava), in Master 60B.

Nearly 200 runners, distributed among the different categories in contention, gathered at this Canary Islands Championship-GP of Saint Lucia. The organization was carried out by the CC Iduna de Vecindario, the Canarian Federation and the Federation of Gran Canaria, with the collaboration of the local Town Hall, the Government of the Canary Islands and the Council of Gran Canaria.
