The Cabildo de Tenerife has opened the period for submitting applications to benefit from the Becas América program. Until June 1, these aids for non-work training practices for university graduates and Vocational Training (FP) may be applied for.
The CEO of Acción Exterior, Liskel Álvarez, pointed out that “this is the first time that this type of scholarship has been called to gain professional experience in the American continent. Specifically, in this first edition there are four places for job training in Mexico and contemplates five months of stay and practices in public entities, private companies or entities of the third sector”.
The program, managed by the Insular Foundation for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede), aims to promote the internationalization of the Tenerife economy by encouraging the acquisition of knowledge and experience abroad by graduates of the island, through non-work training practices.
The aid granted is intended to cover the cost of plane tickets, accommodation under a rental housing regime, travel assistance and civil liability insurance, visa, and compulsory vaccinations, if necessary, among others. In addition, the payment of 700 euros gross per month is included during the entire period of the training practices.
Among the requirements to apply for the scholarship is to have habitual and uninterrupted residence in Tenerife for at least the last year and to have a C1 level in English and an accrediting degree from one of the following branches of knowledge: Social and Legal Sciences; Arts and Humanities; Sciences; Health Sciences; Engineering and architecture.
Vocational training graduates in medium-grade or higher-grade Training Cycles may also attend. In the cases of qualifications obtained abroad, it will be necessary to prove their homologation. Likewise, in the event that an equivalent degree is claimed, its equivalence must be accredited.
