SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 15. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The rector of the University of La Laguna, Francisco García, has culminated today the process of conformation of his government team with the inauguration of the new manager, Teresa Covisa Rubia, in an act held in the Aula Magna of the Central Building and that it has had the presence of the heads of service and section of the educational institution and other public officials from other administrations in which Covisa has worked.
Also in the presence of the Secretary General and the government team, Covisa first thanked his family for their support and had a memory for his parents, “who taught me the value of public service,” he said. She pointed out that she is looking for a “strong and professional” management and that his way of working is governed by the values of ethics, equality, commitment, integrity and professionalism.
The new manager proposed a plan to modernize the administration “to be more effective and efficient.” She also made reference to the “intense change management” that she wants to lead, for which she appreciated the rector’s trust in her. “In this process,” she pointed out, “there will be people who find it difficult to leave their comfort zone, but if we are many, we will succeed.”
Covisa was in favor of improving the public university as the only way to progress. She said she felt the “pride and privilege” of being a public employee and that she hoped to transmit that illusion to the rest of the group.
For his part, the rector maintained the importance of change management, “for which we have six exciting years ahead,” he said. And he shared with the manager the illusion of the new mandate and the challenges that must be addressed.
