members of the Minors and Family Operational Unit (UOMF) of the General Corps of the Canarian Police (CGPC) investigate in Tenerife to three people of one same family for the alleged abduction of a minor, after having carried out different actions with said persons, without reaching a satisfactory result.
On the morning of yesterday, Friday, May 12, the members of said group proceeded to charge three people, specifically, the mother of the child, as well as the maternal grandparents of the latter as alleged authors of a crime child abduction, having withheld it and failing to comply seriously the duty established by administrative resolution, which consisted of reintegrate him to a center that has his guardian.
In the end, after the action of the UOMF, the affected minor was taken to the protection center entrusted with his custody, after the agents requested the judicial authority a home entry with the sole purpose of removing him from the family circle, after the refusal of the parent and grandparents to deliver it.
According to police sources, the service was started by requirement of the General Directorate for the Protection of Children and the Family and the Juvenile Section of the Provincial Prosecutor’s Office of Santa Cruz de Tenerife given the seriousness of the facts.
Said sources explained that the matter reveals conduct on the part of the family indicative of a crime of child abduction and, according to the Autonomous Police, it was proven that the family, taking advantage of the fact that the minor had a stay permit, did not proceed to re-entry of the minor to the protection center entrusted to its custody.
It should be noted that last year, said unit already acted with this same family, and the intervention led to the assumption of guardianship by the Government of the Canary Islandswhich he continues to maintain and for which the minor had to be reinstated.
The proceedings were delivered to the Investigating Court hearing the case.
