The initiative of the citizen Virginia Trujillo collects around 250 signatures on the Change.org portal to prohibit the pyrotechnics sound on the island of Tenerife in order to improve the quality of life of pets and loved ones.
The proposal, addressed to the Cabildo de Tenerife, insists on the anguish suffered by vulnerable people and animals with each explosion of flyers that are released during the festivities. He also alleges that many families choose to stay at home taking care of those affected to make it more bearable.
“Unfortunately, not many pets survive the panic they suffer, either because their hearts fail or they decide to hurt themselves to death to end the suffering,” he says.
In this way, the initiative asks for the collaboration of citizens to prohibit sound fireworks and seek an alternative “promoting other ways of celebrating, from fireworks without explosion to light shows or drones, so that everyone can enjoy the festivities”. concludes.
