The Town Hall of Arona In recent weeks, it has carried out various actions to condition, improve and renovate the facilities on the municipality’s coastline in the Las Vistas beach area. The Aronero government reports that “the roof of the Coastal Management and Rescue Service facilities on Las Vistas Beach has been renovated, which, due to the marine environment, showed obvious signs of deterioration. In addition, a perimeter fence has also been carried out for the baths in front of the Plaza de la Alpispa, The Christians. The fencing has been done to improve the appearance of the environment.
Sand movements have also been carried out on Las Vistas beach, thus replacing the sand in the breakwater area, close to the Los Cristianos pier, which was devoid of sand due to the action of the wind.
The work of the Environment and Sustainability Area of the Arona City Council has the objective of “maintaining the beaches always at the levels of quality and cleanliness that a leading tourist destination at a national and European level as Arona. Not in vain, thanks to this work, Arona has become this year the Tenerife municipality with the most blue flags on its beaches, recovering the banner for Los Cristianos beach, and maintaining the same one in Las Vistas and El Camisón”. This award is granted by the Association for Environmental and Consumer Education (Adeac).
In the last year, actions have been carried out at various points along the coast that have included new modules of the Rescue service; a shaded area, with a 60-square-meter pergola and its corresponding wooden walkway in Los Cristianos, in addition to the new public toilets; new public toilets and showers in Playa Honda, or the placement of four cameras in Playa Honda, El Camisón, Las Vistas and Los Cristianos for the uninterrupted transmission of live images.
