“The El Tomadero road has already been the subject of other interventions, as we must ensure all security and walkability measures,” says the Minister of the Environment, Isabel García, who adds: “Anaga is a unique territory within protected areas as a Rural Park and Biosphere Reserve; To maintain the protection of the environment and to combine it with human uses, we try to reach these spaces to facilitate agricultural work and that the lack of accessibility does not lead to abandonment ”.
The intervention in El Tomadero contemplates the paving of the road and equipping the road with road safety elements such as a triangular ditch on the clearing side to channel surface runoff.
The manufacture of a wall 0.50 wide and 1.50 high is also being tackled in the spaces where landslides are expected, as well as a mixed metal and wood barrier.
