SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 10. (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Cabildo de Tenerife has approved in the Governing Council the bases and the call for aid for the Livestock Health Defense Groups (ADSG) of the island, worth 100,000 euros. The subsidies will be awarded to Ovican, Aprolec, Porcino de Tenerife, Agate, Avícola, Apiten and Caprino Guajara.
The Island Councilor for Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Javier Parrilla, has indicated in a press release that animal health “is essential both for public health and for the maintenance and conservation of the biodiversity of animal species.”
The objective of these aids is to act on production costs to try to alleviate, as far as possible, the increase in the price of feed, energy and fuel, which have experienced increases of up to 70 percent. .
Javier Parrilla explained that the costs of operation and management (water, electricity or telephone), the expenses of veterinary and pharmaceutical services will be eligible; the purchase of vaccines, autovaccines, medicines, protection materials and animal health products; and rat extermination, disinsection and disinfection of farms, among other issues.
With regard to the distribution of the aid, 1,500 euros will be granted in a fixed manner to each of the ADSGs, while the remaining 89,500 euros will be distributed, 50 percent, based on two criteria: the number of farms each association and the number of Large Livestock Units (UGM) owned by the farms.
Those ADSGs that are officially recognized by the General Directorate of Livestock of the Government of the Canary Islands, are up to date with their tax obligations and with Social Security, are registered in the General Registry of Livestock Farms (REGA), and are authorized as a dispensing center for veterinary medicines.
The application model and the bases are available to those interested in the Citizen Services Center of the Cabildo and in the electronic office (https://sede.tenerife.es). Likewise, they may request information at 922 23 95 00 during general hours from Monday to Sunday from 07:00 to 23:00.
