SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 10. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Cabildo de Tenerife, through the delegated area of Citizen Participation and Diversity, has launched four free courses for migrants on the island on initiation to Spanish, basic digital skills and use of technology, and immigration and document processing.

The training will take place from May to October and also includes a specific course for the staff of the entities that assist migrants in Tenerife, to improve their skills in immigration matters.

The training offer will be coordinated through the Migrant Assistance Service (SAM) of the Tenerife Isla Solidaria program, dependent on Sinpromi, with the Canarian association for the promotion of social development, Generation 21, in charge of developing the classes.

The CEO of Citizen Participation and Diversity, Nauzet Gugliotta, pointed out that in order to define the training contents “contributions have been received from the entities that care for migrants on the island, who work in direct contact with them and know their problems and realities”. “They have helped us to collect their demands and concerns to adjust the content to their real needs,” he said.

Altogether, the programming adds up to 200 training hours. Two basic initiation courses in Spanish, 100 and 20 hours, whose objective is to facilitate the social inclusion of migrants so that they can easily interact in their daily environment.

A 20-hour course on basic digital skills and the use of technology, designed to offer essential training in the daily use of digital tools. Use of operating systems, email, video conferencing, information search, content creation, among other utilities.

In addition, a practical course on immigration and document processing will be given. Through this 30-hour training course, they are guided and advised on how to fill out immigration forms, apply for residence, certificates or work visas, student permits, family reunification or long-term residence, among other administrative procedures. The objective is to train the participating migrants to carry out tasks related to immigration, processing and management, and to inform them about immigration law.

The training agenda also includes a course aimed at the group of professionals from the entities that assist the migrant population in Tenerife. The training, of 30 class hours, will be aimed at improving their professional skills in immigration and document processing, among other administrative procedures of interest to migrants.

All the sessions will be face-to-face, with a minimum of 20 people per training action, and will have a transversal module on employment guidance, environmental awareness and gender equality. For more information, you can consult the training section of Tenerife Isla Solidaria (www.tenerifeislasolidaria.org).
