The general secretary of the PSOE of La Laguna and candidate for re-election to the mayoralty, Luis Yeray Gutierrezreported that one of the 150 political formation commitments for the next four years is the reformulation and redesign of Trinidad Avenue, to apply a comprehensive model on this road that offers different mobility options and more efficient and safe connectivity.

“We want to move towards a lively, friendly and sustainable city, in which mobility on foot, by bicycle and by public transport is favored over the option of private vehicles”, explained Luis Yeray Gutiérrez, who added that, in addition, “the The project will serve so that the identities of all the neighborhoods and towns of La Laguna are identified along the road that most identifies the municipality both inside and outside Tenerife”. To this end, a participatory process will be opened, so that citizens and other social and economic agents can participate in the project.

The leader of the Laguna socialists, and current mayor, recalled that Trinidad Avenue “is the main artery of La Laguna, so we will turn it into the heart of the municipality, a heart that will pump the identity of La Laguna to every corner of La Laguna. each one of them”.

Along the same lines, Luis Yeray Gutiérrez announced that the redevelopment of Heraclio Sánchez street will also be addressed: “Our commitment is to humanize the area to promote citizen coexistence.” Among the actions that will be carried out, the replacement of the pavement with a cobbled floor, the creation of shaded areas and the provision of adequate urban furniture stand out.

“In the same way that we will do in Trinidad, we will listen to the needs of the neighbors of Heraclio Sánchez to achieve a recreational way that promotes safe, sustainable mobility, as well as coexistence in the streets of children, neighbors and visitors”, assured.

These two measures are part of the PSOE program for La Laguna for the next four years, which is divided into five major strategic axes, designed to build a municipality with more social justice, more sustainable, more participatory and more innovative.
