On many occasions we have been told or have seen the most curious, funny and even extravagant things, as is the case of the famous rolling cheese race held last June where a man even broke his leg. And now we want to talk about the funny moment that we have seen in this video where we watch as British tourists fight to keep one of the sunbeds. At one Tenerife resort, guests have gone the extra mile and marked their territory in a way that has stumped some of their fellow vacationers.

A good hammock helps those who get up early

The video, captured by the Thomas Clifford (@thomaswclifford) During his vacation, he shows several people lining up around the pool before dashing off to the best spots to make sure their towels are on them. The clip begins with a close-up of Thomas’ watch, revealing that the run for the loungers occurs at 7:47 in the morning. Since the video was shared online, more than 2,000 people have seen it and many have been stunned by what they have seen.

Although fighting for sun loungers is common in the summer monthsThere are rules that must be followed. Etiquette expert William Hanson revealed that reserving a lounger for more than 30 minutes is not appropriate. If someone waits longer, it is acceptable for another guest to remove the towel and take the place. However, there are some exceptions to that 30-minute grace period.

Removal of towels

If someone else is using the pool, the lounger is still yours to use. Also, some hotels do not allow tourists to reserve sun loungers with towels. In a hotel in Tenerife, the staff have been seen removing the towels from those tourists who had placed them on the sun loungers to reserve them..

Competition for sun loungers has also led some tourists to reserve places on the floor of the resorts. In any case, it is recommended that guests check the policy of each hotel to find out if it is allowed to reserve sun loungers.

The sunbed reservation It may be a common practice, but it is not uncommon to see cases like those that have occurred in Tenerife, where tourists have come to queue and chase the workers who clean the pool. In any case, it is important to remember that the objective of the holidays is to relax and enjoy free time, and that reserving sun loungers should not interfere with the peace of mind of the rest of the hotel guests.
