Consumption Bonds Tenerife provides 375,000 euros to participating businesses

«Buy the Consumption Bonus Tenerife from May 8 to June 11, 2023 or while stocks last. You can do it up to a maximum of 10 per person with a total value of 20 euros for each one. This is how the Cabildo de Tenerife advertises on its social networks the start of a campaign, and the fourth edition, of discount vouchers to buy in shops and hospitality businesses on the Island. Establishments interested in participating can register in that time interval through from the page www.bonotenerife.es. The area of EmploymentSocioeconomic Development and Foreign Action once again endorses this project aimed at boosting sales in the sector and services through discount vouchers for customers.

The total budget amounts to 375,000 euros. In the financing, which will be managed by the Insular Foundation, for Training, Employment and Business Development (Fifede), the Government of the Canary Islands.

The Island Councilor for Employment, Socioeconomic Development and Foreign Action, Carmen Luz Baso, encourages establishments to join this initiative which, in addition to promoting commercial activity, represents a claim to expand and retain customers.

The insular commitment tries to extend the network of businesses benefiting from these bonds to as many as possible and, furthermore, in all the municipalities –of the 31 in Tenerife– where there is a positive response to the campaign from the productive fabric.

A value of 20 euros

Each voucher placed in this particular market will have a value of 20 euros, of which the Cabildo de Tenerife will cover fifty percent of its value, while the other half will be paid by the consumer.

Next Monday, the 8th, the period for consumers to purchase their vouchers begins. The maximum number that the same person can use in an establishment is two, so that the amount of the purchase ticket or invoice is equal to or greater than that of the voucher itself.

The Cabildo has made a telephone service available to establishments, where information about the program can be obtained by calling the number 653818784, with the following hours: from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday to Friday. In addition, inquiries can be made to the email [email protected].

No tobacco, no alcohol, no lotteries

These vouchers may not be used, in any case, in the acquisition of tobacco or electronic cigarettes, lotteries and/or bets, mobile phone recharges, cards or PINs for Internet purchases, alcoholic beverages or gift cards, subscriptions to online platforms or other related products. Nor will there be the possibility of returning cash, neither in the purchase nor in the return.

The campaigns have always been designed in accordance with the proposals put forward by the merchants themselves who participated in the first edition, launched in January 2022.

Seven out of 10 affiliated establishments at that time perceived an increase in sales and new consumers thanks to the Tenerife Consumer Bonus. In addition, more than 62% of the businesses rated the program with the highest rating, while 15.7% rated it four out of five. The main demand of the establishments, given the success, was to increase the budget for future editions of the program, something that has been taken into account for the new calls.

A great success since its premiere

The Tenerife Consumer Bonds generated in their third edition -the first was at the beginning of 2022 and the second between April and June-, developed from October 31 to November 30 of last year, sales worth 689,000 euros in small businesses in the Island. In addition to running out in just four days. Nearly 400 small and medium businesses from 23 municipalities and 4,186 people participated in the campaign. Sales increased almost twice compared to the 388,000 euros of the previous one, which for the Cabildo demonstrates the effectiveness of the initiative as a tool to encourage purchases and help decentralize them from the areas with the greatest commercial flow. 11,281 bonds of 10, 30 and 60 euros were exchanged, of which the Cabildo paid 50%, while the other half was paid by the consumer.| JDM
