SANTA CRUZ DE TENERIFE, May 2. (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Association of Friends of the Museum of Nature and Archeology (MUNA), in collaboration with the Autonomous Organization of Museums and Centers (OAMC), is organizing a nine-kilometre guided route along the Siete Cañadas track of the Parque Nacional del Teide.

The activity will be directed by the president of the Association and doctor in Biology, José García, who will explain the natural singularities of the area at this time of year and who will be accompanied by the botanical experts Cristóbal Rodríguez Piñero and José García Casanova.

For yet another year, this traditional excursion is organized with the aim of allowing participants to discover more than twenty endemic plants exclusive to the peaks of Tenerife and La Palma that bloom with the arrival of spring.

Following a round trip route between Portillo Bajo and Risco Verde, the activity will cover a small section of Las Cañadas. During this walk, details about the geological landscape will also be revealed, a space of landforms originated in the central part of Tenerife during the last million years, in which volcanism and gravitational landslides have configured a unique volcanic scenario.

Those interested can obtain more information on the Tenerife Museums website, www.museosdetenerife.org.
